Construction and demolition waste rate changes Nov. 1

Construction and Demolition Waste Diversion
The City wants to encourage more recycling of construction and demolition waste. City landfills now charge a designated materials rate for commercial customers. This includes concrete, brick and masonry block, asphalt and metal. The City has also launched a construction and demolition waste diversion pilot at Spyhill Landfill to provide recycling opportunities for wood, asphalt shingles, drywall and cardboard.

Blue Cart recycling Blue Cart recycling is here.
The City of Calgary provides weekly Blue Cart recycling service to single-family households up to and including fourplexes. All recyclables go in one cart—no more sorting—and plastics 1-7 are included. Collection is on the same day and location as regular garbage collection (front street or back lane).
