March 2004 The Office of Energy Efficiency at Natural Resources Canada gives the EnviroSmart project an Honourable Mention through the Energy Efficiency Awards program for its concerted efforts to save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
October 2003 The Alberta Chapter of the American Public Works Association honours the EnviroSmart project with the Technical Innovation (Transportation) Award, commending The City of Calgary for the development and innovation of a creative idea that enhances public works in serving the public.
September 30, 2003 Roads kicks off Phase 3 of the EnviroSmart Retrofit Program in southeast Calgary, where crews begin replacing 10,000 dropped lens residential streetlights.
