With over 7500 hectares of land and approximately 700 Km of pathways available, the opportunities to get out in the fresh air are endless. Take a walk in Nose Hill Natural Environment Park, let your dog run in one of the many off-leash parks, or simply sit and relax in one of the over 3400 park sites.

The Parks Pathway System is approximately 700km in length with 110km of that being snow cleared on a priority one basis as approved by Council. Another 24km are cleared on a priority two basis.

Natural Areas Photo Contest

Natural Areas Photo Contest
The Natural Areas Adopt-A-Park program is looking for your best photos taken in Bowmont Park, Twelve Mile Coulee and Weaselhead. Deadline for the Twelve Mile Coulee contest is February 12.

National Water and Energy Conservation Award

National Water and Energy Conservation Award
The City of Calgary Parks has won the National Water and Energy Conservation Award by "transforming the irrigation industry in western Canada and demonstrated exceptional commitment to using water wisely."

Bronze Leaf Disease Bronze Leaf Disease (BLD)
BLD is a fungus that is infecting some of Calgary's poplar and aspen trees. The disease spreads quickly and left untreated, the trees could potentially die. Parks is asking all Calgarians to look out for this disease and report all confirmed cases to the City.

School program bookings have reopened. Bookings are being accepted for program dates in April, May & June only. Space is limited.
