The Crestwood Housing Development is located in the Millican-Ogden community at 2425 - 69 Avenue S.E. Crestwood is located in close proximity to parks, schools, shopping centres, and has convenient access to downtown and southeast industrial employment areas.

Design summary
This 60-unit (eight one-bedroom; 52 two-bedroom), L-shaped, four-storey wood-frame multi-residential development will provide affordable rents to low-income households with children and persons with mobility difficulties. Developed by The City of Calgary, the plan includes seven one-bedroom and three two-bedroom wheelchair accessible units. Parking will be provided on-site both underground and in a surface lot.

- contemporary railway heritage design;
- underground, secure parking for vehicles and bicycles;
- courtyard with walk-out patios;
- on-site child play area;
- an accessibly designed building includes a resident drop-off area for residents with mobility restrictions;
- approximately 3000 square feet of common indoor amenity areas for laundry, a community event room and resource centre, and an office.

The development is designed utilizing sustainable, energy efficiency construction materials based upon equivalent Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED TM) criteria. This reduces energy consumption and operation costs over the life of the building.

The Calgary Real Estate Board Charitable Foundation
The Calgary Real Estate Board Charitable Foundation has committed a $1.5 million donation towards the capital costs of the project. This donation sets both an important and impressive precedent in Calgary as a private sector donation to a City-owned affordable housing development. Property Management
The Calgary Housing Company (CHC) will operate and manage the completed development. Ten of the 60 units will offer near-market rental rates with the remaining 50 units offered at below-market rental rates.
