The City of Calgary: Fire Station Tours

Students, clubs, associations and our public are invited to book a tour their local fire station. During station tours, participants have the opportunity to meet the men and women dedicated to your safety. Learn about the Fire Department vehicles and the diverse, technical firefighting equipment that firefighters use on a daily basis. This is a great opportunity for participants to learn about fire safety with the people that make it happen.

Through the use of educational props there is an opportunity for participants to learn about fire safety. At the conclusion of each tour, children will receive a fire safety activity book. This book will continue to reinforce the important information shared during their time at the fire station.

Booking your tour

Tours must be booked a minimum of 3 weeks in advance, but not more than 6 weeks. Confirmation of tour date may take up to 3 weeks.
Tours are scheduled for 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m. 7 days a week and are approximately 45 minutes in duration.
In order to ensure that the operational needs of the firefighters on duty are respected, please plan your groups arrival for no more than 5 minutes prior to your tour time.
Due to restricted parking at most fire stations, carpooling is advised.
Transportation must remain available on-site as tours may be interrupted or cancelled on short notice due to call volume.
The maximum group size is limited to no more than 30 people per tour.
There must be 1 adult supervisor for every 5 children.
To ensure the educational experience is beneficial, children must be 4 years of age or older.
Please inform the fire department if any visitors require special needs (i.e. wheelchair).
Please follow the Map of Fire Stations link on the right of the page to find the fire station your group would like to tour. The following fire stations do not conduct tours: #5, #15, #11, #13, #25, #32, #34, #36, #37.

Cancellation of Tours

Station Tours are subject to cancellation if an emergency should occur. Should an alarm interrupt or cancel your tour, your time with us will be rescheduled.
The station you are visiting may experience a high call volume and your visit may be interrupted or cancelled. If this were to happen, the fire department will work with you to ensure that an alternate tour time can be scheduled.
Transportation must remain available on-site as tours may be interrupted or cancelled on short notice due to call volume.
If you need to cancel a scheduled tour, the Calgary Fire Department requires 48 hours cancellation notice.
