The Calgary Fire Prevention Bureau is dedicated to providing the citizens and businesses of Calgary with timely and effective fire prevention and safety programs.
The Division's Fire Safety Codes officers conduct annual fire and life safety inspections of commercial and industrial buildings, review site and building plan submissions, inspect structures for compliance with required codes and issue Certificates of Occupancy for new businesses.
Fire Inspectors respond to and investigate complaints and also work closely with the Calgary Police Service to determine the cause of suspicious fires.
