How to review your assessment
The Community Search application can help property owners review their market value assessment by comparing sales of similar properties in their neighbourhood. A community profile is provided for each Calgary community and for your convenience we have separated the profiles into two categories: single residential and residential condominiums. The statistical information provided is based on data collected on July 01, 2009 - The City of Calgary's valuation date as set by the Province's Municipal Government Act.
Identified in the each community profile are assessment and sales statistics and descriptive statistics.
Assessment and sale statistics identified are:
- Community Median assessment for properties sold in market analysis period
- Community median assessment per sq. ft for properties sold in market analysis
- Community overall median adjusted sales price
- Community overall median adjusted sales price per sq. ft.
- Number of sales used in market analysis
Descriptive statistics such as:
- Median living area of residences or unit
- Median parcel area of lots
- Median year of construction of residences or unit
- Percentage of properties with finished basements
- Percentage of properties with a fireplace
- Percentage of one storey properties
- Percentage of two storey properties
- Percentage of all other structure types
- Percentage of apartment units
- Percentage of townhouse units
